Co-founded Tripple, an open innovation platform where organizations publish internal and public challenges and communities co-create solutions, with a highly themable design system.
I was one of the co-founders of Tripple (LinkedIn), an open innovation platform where organizations could publish innovation challenges and communities could propose solutions. Tripple acted as the central hub for open innovation, supporting both internal (private) challenges restricted to a single organization and public challenges visible to all users.
During its lifetime, Tripple hosted campaigns for clients such as the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, El Gatales (influencer) and Procaps, among others. These organizations used the platform to surface internal problems, strategic questions and new opportunity areas, and then gather proposals, ideas and contributions from employees, communities or external innovators.
Within the founding team, I acted as:
Tripple was built as a web application using Nuxt.js on the frontend and Ruby on Rails on the backend. We deployed the platform on AWS and orchestrated CI/CD with Jenkins, giving us a relatively lean but robust pipeline for frequent releases and continuous iteration.
To support the need for deep visual customization per client, I designed a design system called “Pill”. The core concept was a flat background on top of which “pills” (cards and components) were positioned and could overlap each other. The system was intentionally highly configurable through a small set of CSS-driven parameters that allowed us to adapt to each client's brand by adjusting:
This made it possible to keep a coherent product experience while still making each client's instance of Tripple strongly reflect their own brand identity, which was a key selling point for innovation campaigns and public challenges.
In addition to the core application, I also designed and developed Tripple's marketing landing page in WordPress, aligning the brand, narrative and visual language with what users would experience once inside the platform.
Although Tripple is no longer active today, the project encapsulates my work as a co-founder, product-oriented architect, front-end engineer and UI/UX designer, building a customizable SaaS platform for open innovation and collaborative problem-solving.
